Beautiful sweet pea flower that climbs and trellises as given the opportunity. Frost-hardy. Heat tolerant. Few problems with pests or diseases. This mix produces purple, pink, red, and white blossoms. Annual.
WARNING: Toxic, so do NOT eat. This is different than regular garden peas, which are Pisum sativum.
Sweet Pea – Royal Family Mix – Lathyrus odoratus
Planting & Growing: When frost has passed, prepare to plant sweet peas. Soak them for 24 hours before planting in the bottom of a 6” trench. Once plants are established, fill trench in gradually until ground is level. You may also sow indoors 4-6 weeks before frost and then transplant if needed.
Soil & Care: Prefers loamy, well-draining soil. Add mulch and deadhead wilted blossoms as the plants bloom.
