This giant sunflower has bright gold flowers that can grow easily to 12″ across (not to mention 9-12′ tall!). Produces flowers filled with grey and white striped edible seeds.

Flowers: Edible seeds. Blooms late summer to fall

Attracts: Attracts bees and butterflies; leaves are favored by finches

Soil: Adaptable to various, moderately fertile soil types

Planting & Growing: Plant seed 6″ apart and 1/2″ deep after spring frost. Thin to 8″-12″ when plants reach 2″ in height.

Harvesting & Storage:  Let seeds dry on flower and harvest once dry, separating from flower.  Store in shell for fresh eating, or shell and store for use in salads and recipes.
