Description
This is a classic medicinal herb that grows well in disturbed soil, including fields and fencerows. The first year, it produces a rosette of fuzzy, soft green leaves. The second year, a tall flower stalk stretches upward from the base, bursting into bloom with pretty yellow flowers. The leaves and the flowers have both traditionally been used for medicinal purposes and remain a favorite home remedy to this day, and the plant has many other uses as well.
Mullein – Common – Verbascum thapsus
