Ready to be impressed? These are massive beets than can grow up to 20-40lbs in weight and 6 feet in length! Harvest young roots and young or mature greens for eating. Light red roots and white flesh.
This variety has lots of uses! It’s high in sugar, so has been used to create alcohol. You can also use this variety as fodder for chickens, horses, cows, goats, pigs, rabbits, and sheep. Stores well.

Soil & Water: Beets are easily grown; they prefer deep, loose soil and even, moderate water.
Planting & Growing: Soak seeds for at least 12 hours before planting to promote germination. Space 2″ apart, but eventually thin to 4-8″ apart. Tolerates light shade. Beets grow best with cool soil in spring and fall. (It is sometimes suggested to plant this fodder beet in late summer for winter and spring crops.)
Harvesting & Storage: Harvest roots for eating while young, or pick greens anytime. Allow animals to graze on the beets, or harvest the leaves and roots for feeding animals.
