This mustard green produces purple leaves with gently scalloped edges. Used for cooking with pork, pickling, stir frying, adding to salads, and more! Slow bolting variety.
Mustard Greens – Giant Red – Brassica juncea
Soil & Water: Mustard greens prefer rich, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0-7.5 and plenty of added organic matter. Water regularly and evenly to avoid bitterness.
Planting & Growing: Mustard prefers cooler weather. Start indoors 3 weeks before the last frost in the spring and continue planting every two weeks until midsummer, or sow directly in the garden a few weeks before the last frost in the spring. You can also use it as a late-season crops.
Harvesting & Storage: Begin harvesting individual leaves after the center rosette has begun to develop.
