Description
This open pollinated snow pea produces sweet, 4.5×1″ pods! Resistant to Fusarium wilt race 1, pea enation mosaic virus, and powdery mildew.
Pea – Oregon Giant – Pisum sativum
Soil & Water: Peas are not particular about soil, but prefer those with plenty of added organic matter and a pH pf 5.5-6.8. Provide moderate water until bloom, then lower the water rate.
Planting & Growing: Peas perform best in cool weather between 60-75F; growing season may be extended using shade cloth or frost fabrics. Presoak seeds to help prevent disease and to speed germination. Oregon Sugar Pod peas are resistant to pea enation virus, wilt, and powdery mildew.
Harvesting & Storage: Peas are usually ready for harvest about 3 weeks after the flower appears and before peas are fully developed in the pods. This variety is best when the pods are 4″ long. Regular picking extends production.
