Description
From 1941, this excellent variety produces 1.5-2″ Brussels sprouts on sturdy, 20-24″ stalks that are perfect for easily picking and then eating fresh or freezing.
Brussels Sprouts – Catskill – Brassica oleracea
Soil & Water: Provide rich, fertile soil that’s 6.5 pH and high in nitrogen. Water consistently.
Planting & Growing: Start seeds indoors and transplant 100 days before first fall frost. When lower sprouts are 1″ in diameter, remove the growing tip to grow sprouts.
Harvesting & Storage: Pick when full size. The lower brussels sprouts will be ready to harvest first, and frost does improve their flavor.
