What seeds are you planting in YOUR children?

I know that you probably share the same priorities we do, and that you know it’s important to know where your food comes from. But do your kids know?

This season, I have a challenge for you: Plant seeds with your kids this year.

It doesn’t have to be a lot, and they don’t have to plant EVERYTHING.

But why not include them in the garden fun this year? Help them plant seeds. Guide them in picking produce. And talk with them about how gardens grow the way they do.

Because when you do that, you will be planting those same seeds into your children’s lives.

They might not grow food the same ways you did when they go out on their own. And there are times when they may not be able to grow more than few pots on the back deck. But they will still understand where their food comes from, and how much effort goes into growing it.

Several years ago, I already involved my kids in the garden. But I was looking for something bigger, a small cottage industry that would give my children an opportunity to work together with me in a family business, to plant seeds in their lives like my parents planted in my own.

And then one winter over 10 years ago now, I had an epiphany.

We loved heirloom seeds and vegetables, so why not start an heirloom seed business?

And that’s how Seeds for Generations began!

Today, our family business sells 100% heirloom and non-GMO vegetable, herb, and flower seeds.

Our mission?

To pass our love for heirloom seeds and gardening onto others and expand the circle of people reconnecting with the land and growing more of their own food.

If you’re just starting your gardening adventure this year, or you already have seedlings growing now, please consider supporting our family effort. As always, every order also helps us as we rebuild from the shop fire that happened in January! Thank you for your support. 🙂
