Description
Snap pea. Sweet and crunchy edible pods and peas grow on tall vines. Pods are 2″-3″ long, and bear over a long picking period. Yields well in both hot and cold weather.
Pea – Sugar Snap – Pisum sativum
Soil & Water: Well drained, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Adequate water is needed for high yield.
Planting & Growing: Direct seed in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. For best yields and easier picking, provide support at planting time with a fence or trellis.
Harvesting & Storage: Harvest when the peas enlarge in the pods. Good for freezing and canning.
