Description
Snap pea. Sugar Ann is an early, edible-pod pea ideal for small gardens. With short, bushy vines that don’t need support, it can produce peas about 10 days earlier than other snap peas. Delicious pods are a joy sauteed, fresh or steamed.
Peas – Sugar Ann – Pisum sativum
Soil and Water: Well drained, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Adequate water is needed for high yield.
Planting and Growing: Direct seed in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. For best yields and easier picking, provide support at planting time with a fence or trellis.
Harvesting and Storage: Hold vine while picking to avoid tearing; peas have highest yield and sweetest flavor when pods are almost rounded
