One Year of Food Production on a Homestead Training

A family engaged in gardening together in a cultivated field on a sunny day.

Lessons Learned from Our Homestead & Tripling Our Garden Area in One Year

By 2018, we’d been looking for a homestead for years, but every possibility kept falling through. Until friends of ours found themselves having to move to care for aging relatives. One thing led to another, and we were able to purchase their amazing homestead, which included more space for animals, orchards, and gardens. As a result, we tripled our garden area and massively increased our food production in a just one year!

Join this informative training where we share lessons from our own journey of scaling up food production for our large family and how you can do the same in YOUR situation, while avoiding the most common pitfalls and mistakes that will cost you time, energy, and money along the way.

In this training, we will cover:

  • What planning considerations you need to take into account for self-production – this is very important!
  • What you should know before raising animals
  • Tips & tricks for growing more food in your garden & on your homestead property
  • The importance of setting up efficient harvest & preservation systems for the food you do produce, so you don’t waste it

Your host will be Jason Matyas, Founder of Seeds for Generations and lifelong gardener, and popular teacher at gardening and homesteading events.
